Product Description
Naturally occurring antibiotic making it a particularly useful agent for selection in plant transformation research.
Bialaphos is a natural herbicide produced by the bacteria Streptomyces hygroscopicus and Streptomyces viridochromegenes. Bialaphos is made of two alanine resudies and the glutamic acid analog phosphinothricin. It is commonly used as a gene selector in transgenic plants. Commonly used plasmids include: pGreenII 0229 and pGreenII 0229 62-SK.
